Movie Review: A Walk to Remember (2002)

Mandy Moore and Shane West as characters, Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter respectively.

This heart clenching classic is the epitome of cliche love stories. Written by legendary author, Nicholas Sparks, A Walk to Remember is perfect for anyone with a soft spot for tear-jerking love stories. Everything about this movie is so sublime. The story, the cast, the cinematography, the soundtrack. The film will have your mind continuously lingering over the tragic romance of young lovers, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan. The two develop a powerful and inspirational relationship in which they discover truths that take most people a lifetime to learn. In contrast to all the vulgar crudities of typical modern teenage movies, this particular film shows that not all teenagers are as oblivious and cretinous as Hollywood portrays them. “Jamie has faith in me. She makes me want to be different, better.” It is exceedingly rare to find such a simple and wholesome movie, and the purity of the storyline just makes the film more beautiful and touching.
